Madame Olivia honors the art of French Bakery and Mediterranean cuisine, where gastronomy is truly understood as an art form.
We cherish the integrity of fresh ingredients and the authenticity of every dish, especially those with stories passed down from loved ones—a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, or even a neighbor. Back in the day when life moved at a slower pace, everything tasted better.
Each dish was crafted with technique and passion, honoring time and tradition.
Today, we bring those recipes back to the table, respecting the process and using the finest, wholesome ingredients.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our community where our guests can savor freshly baked pastries, artisanal breads, and mediterranean dishes. We are dedicated to using high-quality ingredients to craft delicious, fresh, and healthy flavorful food.
The Story Behind Madame Olivia
Madame Olivia is the creation of two passionate individuals brought together by chance — or perhaps destiny. Oren Cohen and Stephan Laurent first crossed paths in Shanghai in November 2019, not knowing that five years later they would become partners in building a unique culinary destination blending the art of French baking with the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.
At heart, Oren Cohen is an entrepreneur and a passionate home chef who loves creating healthy, delicious meals for his friends and family. Stephan Laurent is a French baker and restaurateur, devoted to his craft and living in Shanghai at the time.
A few months before their meeting, Oren had seen Stephan’s restaurant featured on an Israeli version of Chef's Table. He was intrigued, and when a business trip took him to Shanghai, he made a point to visit Stephan’s restaurant. As Oren walked in, he immediately recognized Stephan from the show. He introduced himself, offered his compliments, and after a brief conversation, the two exchanged contact information — as entrepreneurs often do when they sense a meaningful connection.
Three years passed. As Oren began to explore his next business venture, his wife Alexis suggested, “Why don’t you open a place that shares the kind of healthy food you cook for us every day? Maybe you should call the friend you met in Shanghai to share some thoughts together.” That simple suggestion led Oren to reach back out to Stephan.
What began as a casual reconnection soon turned into a partnership. Within a year of that phone call, Stephan and his wife moved to Miami to start a new chapter — and a new business — with Oren.
The name Madame Olivia is inspired by Alexis and Oren’s young daughter, Olivia, whose love for good food and vibrant personality embody the spirit of the place. At Madame Olivia, we aim to create a warm, welcoming space where our community can gather and enjoy freshly baked pastries, artisanal breads, and healthy Mediterranean dishes — all made with passion, care, and the highest-quality ingredients.
Madame Olivia is more than a Bistro & Bakery; it’s a story of friendship, shared passion, and the simple joy of bringing people together around great food.
